If you need assistance, please contact us at [email protected] SUMMARY: Adjunct Faculty refers to an educator hired to teach on a course-by-course basis throughout an academic year. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach three semester credit hours per 7-week term in the fully online competency-based education (CBE) format supporting the CBE Orientation Courses. Respond to student inquiries within 24 hours and provide timely feedback on assignments and assessments. Facilitate courses by adhering to the standard course syllabus as provided by the Assistant Dean. Monitor undergraduate-level orientation courses for CBE programs and provide weekly status reports to advisors. Develop and maintain teaching materials (e.g., syllabi, course content, question libraries, etc.). Prepare and evaluate course assignments and examinations. Other duties as assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education: Terminal degree in public safety or closely related field with 18 hours in field/subject area OR Master’s degree in public safety with terminal degree in closely related field. Experience: NA Knowledge / Skills: Proficient with computers and Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to: Multi-task and work cooperatively with others. Work with minimal supervision. Licensing/Professional Certifications: NA Physical Requirements: NA Other Requirements: Position will require work after business hours and on weekends. PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE: Candidates who hold current relevant professional credentials. College or University teaching experience. Evidence of teaching excellence. Prior relevant industry experience. Experience working with varied student populations. Online or hybrid teaching experience. SUPERVISION OF OTHERS: N/A All positions are security-sensitive.
