About The Role We are seeking an experienced AWS DevOps Engineer who thrives on solving complex infrastructure challenges at scale. In this pivotal role, you will take end-to-end ownership of our cloud infrastructure, focusing on architecture, automation, deployment, monitoring, security, and cost management. Your expertise will ensure our systems remain fast, reliable, and secure, even during unpredictable traffic surges. You will collaborate closely with software engineering teams to establish infrastructure standards and deployment practices, while continuously improving our operational workflows. The ideal candidate will possess a strong ownership mindset, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to navigate ambiguous environments effectively. Qualifications

  • 4–7 years of hands-on experience with AWS in production environments
  • Proven track record of operating and enhancing high-traffic, high-availability systems
  • Strong understanding of cloud networking, security, and system design principles
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
  • Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  • Proficiency in Linux system administration
  • Strong scripting skills and proficiency in at least one programming language
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to articulate technical decisions, trade-offs, failures, and lessons learned
  • Comfort working in ambiguous environments without rigid Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Demonstrated ownership and problem-solving abilities

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate secure, scalable, and highly available AWS infrastructure
  • Architect systems capable of handling sudden and large traffic surges
  • Make and own architectural decisions, balancing trade-offs and outcomes in production
  • Ensure fault tolerance, high availability, and disaster recovery strategies are in place
  • Develop and manage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform
  • Automate provisioning, scaling, recovery, and operational workflows to improve efficiency
  • Design and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines to facilitate safe, zero-downtime deployments
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to evolve infrastructure and deployment standards
  • Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability practices for proactive issue detection
  • Lead incident response efforts, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement long-term improvements
  • Manage cloud security posture and enforce best practices to safeguard systems
  • Monitor and optimize cloud costs without compromising performance or scalability
